Over the past 25 years, the city has undergone colossal changes that other countries have not been able to achieve in 100 years. About 20 percent of all cranes on earth are located in Dubai. The Dubai Metro, which was finally completed in 2009 and has 42 stations, took 18 months.

The city is also building the largest amusement park on the planet, Dubiland, which will feature artificial islands, resorts and mansions.
